Has anyone tried any of the extreme drum sizes that Pearl has to offer. Like 8"deep floor toms and 10"deep bass drums. I wonder what kind of tone they have to offer and if they're actually good for anything?

I actually have not designed any kits with those sizes yet since 99'..I would think they would sound rather "shallow"..

that would be good for like a jazz gig or maybe a smaller gig or soemthing...just less resonance and punch, probably need mics.

30X30? Good grief...I'd crawl up there and take a nice nap until the bass drum pedal/alarm clock woke me up, or even put some fish in it (especially if it was a vistalite), and feed em once a day! Oh, and imagine the size of the case to store it in, too!

If you wanted one of thoes, you would have to call OCDP, and you could probably get all similar hardware, and a custom badge to be similar to Masterworks, but it would be somewhat of a sham
