sessions are great drums .... some dont buy them because they lack "pro" quality such as having only 8 bass lugs on eash side opposed to having 10 on each side like the masters .... not having rubber gaskets on the bass claws .... the finish isnt of high quality due to them not putting "select" maple or birch outer plies that show the wood grain as good.... if you want a sweet kit and dont wanna dish out the $$$ get the sessions , if you have the money go for the masters

anybody got a good pic of John Mayer's drummer's kit? I checked the site, and it had some pics, but none that showed the finish that I hear is so beautiful. Id love to have some for my website.

I saw his drummer playing Mapex twice...

But I think I saw them on TV once live and he (the drummer) was using a masters kit. He's a pretty hard hitter too! Kind of ironic considering what kind of band he's in.

Stephen is a great drummer and
you may remember him from his
stint with Charlie Hunter. Then he
played only an 18" kick, snare drum,
19" ride, hi-hats, cowbell, and an
assortment of tambourines and
shakers. Filling in the 3-piece was
percussionist Chris Lovejoy and
they put on a great show!
Stephen's Masterworks kit is
as follows:

Masterworks
Crystal Rain finish
22x18 bass drum
10x8 tom
12x9 tom
14x12 tom (with legs)
16x14 tom (with legs)
14x5.5 snare drum

Here's a picture of his Crystal Rain snare.
