I just discovered that on all the reference series drums are masters reso heads on the kick. wierd or am I wrong??

Not sure why it says masters on it. Because masters do not come with white reso's they come with black resos.

These kits were part of the original group of Reference kits, the Reference heads weren't done yet.

I noticed it too. I never noticed it when they were here.

if im not mistaken, pearl only makes white masterworks reso's these days, though i could be wrong. try andy at massmusic for an answer.

yeah, I'm 99% sure.. the 1% is that my drumshop can make white masters, but they're not original. Just printed over some remo powerstrokes.

i was in columbus percussion the other day and they have a red ref. series. i wanted to play it but it was evident that nobody was touching it(atleast yet)....but yeah it had a white masters reso as well..it was weird cuz right when i walked in the first thing that caught my eye was the kit. and i noticed the reso and thought it was a masterworks at first..then got closer and read the reference series badges and said "Holy ****"....then i proceeded to drool...:)

You can buy white pearl reso heads. Take a look at my kit in my sig. The only thing is that they are a thinner one or two ply head. They dont have the muffling ring on the inside and they are not coated. They are smooth white. Also, they do not say masters at the bottom. If you dont care about any of that, then they are about $25 at massmusic or musiciansfriend.
