did you put money down on them or is that the actual price. i had gotten a price for a set in the following: 8x8, 10x9, 12x10, 14x12, 22x20. just those five drums were going to run me 2736. where are you buying them from?

I am paying 50% of list for the 4 piece shell pack that includes the 10, 12, 14ft, and 20 bd. List is 4399, so 2199.50 plus $50 for shipping. The snare, 8, and 16ft will be coming later and I am paying 50% of list for them as well. I ordered mine from Chuck Levins Washington Music Center, 301-946-8808. See my complete order in my signature below.

Maybe, just maybe they will come today!!!

Yeah, Coleman is the man at Chucks. This will be the fourth drumset I've ordered from him including my Roland V-drums.

Sadly, the Reference kid did NOT arrive today. Maybe tomorrow. I was really hoping to have them tonight. Maybe for the weekend????

I was told that I was getting the FIRST 20" Granite Sparkle bass drum in the country. Not that I care if I'm first, just want to get my hands on them. I must admit though, I am worried. My MRX kit sounds sooooooooooooooooooooo good, I can't imagine anything sounding better. The BRX kit, well, not so much. Considering selling it except for the fact that it looks so damn cool!

Call Coleman at Chucks people. Support the small, local, music shop that has really good prices. In fact, I sometimes try to beat their prices and never find any lower.

My wife asked me today to explain why I "needed" these drums. Anybody have any new or innovative explanations for my "need"? I sure as hell can't begin to answer that! My standard response is "you didn't NEED your new Acura".

Congrats on the new kit. I'm sure you're just like a six year old right before Christmas.

As for the wife, say "I don't know why I need a new kit. I just do. It's one of those things I can't explain. Trust me." Once you say "Trust me." it changes things around. Also explain that it's not about having ANOTHER drumset. It's about have THAT drumset. It's completly different.
Good luck! I have one too. ;)

When I order music gear or mention it, she always says "Where the hell is it going to go? Besides the bathrooms, we have musical instruments in every room of the house." But she has a big smile when she says that.

F**K! The real Pearl is showing itself once again. Today I trekked up to the store through which I ordered my Ref kit. I was there to try a Ufip hi hat I had ordered (long story short, hi hat was not good, didn't buy it). Whilst there, the drum manager called Pearl to inquire about my order. He was told it would ship JUNE 16th. WTF? He was told mid May a couple of weeks ago and that is why he charged my credit card.

So, now I have a couple grand on my credit card and no drums. And even worse, I look like a fool on this forum. This is the kind of crap I swore I would not put up with anymore. And yet, here I am.

All I can say is: PEARL, GET YOUR ***** TOGETHER, DAMMIT! WHEN YOU START A NEW PRODUCT, PLEASE WORK ON LOGISTICS. THERE ARE SPECIALISTS IN THIS AREA YOU CAN HIRE TO WORK THESE THINGS OUT!

Sorry for the profanity.

F**K! The real Pearl is showing itself once again. WTF? .

Sorry to hear about the delay dude! But keep in mind that your drums are completed already; this is just a shipping mumbo-jumbo issue. Perphaps you're kit just missed the last big shipment by a couple of days or something. Somtimes orders come in early, sometimes they come in late. Not much you can do!
As for your credit card issue: I don't like the sound of the store you do business at. At my drum shop, they typically want 5-10% down when you make an expensive order, but you don't pay another dime until you kit comes in complete. Me personally, I know the guys real well so I didn't pay a dime for my Masters until threes months after it came in and I had already taken them home. I paid off the entire load in one swipe though when it was time to pay.
It's probaly more of some shipping companie's fault than Pearl's for the late ETA! Can't wait to see pics though! ;)

As an employer for UPS, I have to say it is not our fault...do not blame us....unless it comes all smashed up, then it is are fault! Seriously....if it is coming through UPS, i pray to God that you got it insured...cause i'm a loader and i've seen things...bad things....my first week on the job i saw a PRS Hollowbody smashed to bits on the floor :(

I use Fed-X!
