Hey, all. First time on the forums for me. :)
At the moment, I don't have a Pearl kit, but I was wondering just how far to the left I could put my toms with Pearl gear, and still use the high hats, Beauford style :P. Basically, I want to put my floor tom on the right hand side of the kick drum, using a 10, 12 and 14 inch tom set.
On a basic setup, Export kick mounted tom style for instance, I have a hell of a time reaching the 12 inch tom, cause of a dicky left arm - it's just too far over for me. I've 'kinda' fixed that by fitting my small tom to the bottom half of the ride stand, and fitting the ride to the kick drum, but it's still not good enough. What do you think? If I manage to fit my floor on the right hand side, the high hats would be too far over to really be comfortable.
Also, if it means anything, I would like to play the toms flat, similar to Travis Barker, but closer to Mike Portnoy's set.
Eagerly awaiting reply, :)
