Since Pearl offers 6" toms in both masterworks and masters will they offer 6" toms as a special order int he reference series? I would imagine they would just be the same wood combination as the 8"...

It's a tom mount... same thing that's drilled into the shell on forums and the receiver portion of ISS mounts

Huh?
I feel like I'm in the bizarro world on this forum sometimes. I have never seen a Masters or Masterworks 6" tom on ANY price list or in any store.
If it exists, why wouldn't it be on the current combo-PL PDF available on THIS website?
I'm not saying it doesn't exist but wtf????
Are we still in Kansas auntie M?

Too funny!
You will learn my friend, there are many things that are possible but are not mentioned officially. Such as Session colors on the Masters line...but shhh, if anyone asks, you don't know me, right?

pearl is cracking down on special orders this year, so session colors probably arent doable.

special orders are funny things. i don't know how Pearl works but Tama is actually pretty quick to place special order sizes. I remember asking about a 6" tom when i ordered my first SC maple kit, the Tama rep told the store "no way". YEars later (last year) after i had gotten some special order maple tymp toms made by tama, i asked about a 6" tom again, this time i called Tama customer service, they said "Yes" and that they offer them in Japan as a special order item. I recieved it about 3 1/2 months later.
Last december i custom ordered a 14" x 26" SC maple bass drum, again Tama was pretty quick to OK it. Tama informed me that i'll get it in the first few days of MAy.
Tama doesn't seem to be too quick to offer custom colors but they've been great with custom sizes.
For some reason I could see Reference 6" toms being hard to get.

Fair enough. However, what would you use a 6" tom for exactly? I mean, by the time you place a mic on that thing, where the hell do you hit it? I have a hard enough time tuning my 8" toms in proper context with the 10, 12, 14, and 16 I am currently using. And I don't even need to tell you the pickle I'd be in if I started using my 13 again! I am almost choking (the living sh*t) out of the 8 now.
Well, I don't know, maybe you guys know what to do with the 6" (no, not that 6" :)) but I can't think of an application for me.
