You kinda answered your own question! You said when you first got your kit the snare drum sounded absolutely beautiful. That's the key, when it was NEW!
Heads wear out and snares stretch. How quickly depends on how hard you play and how often. I've heard of drummers changing heads during recording sessions BETWEEN TAKES!
That's taking the "like new" sound to an extreme but if you're serious about your sound, you need to maintain your drums.
Check out what heads the other drummers on this Forum are playing and try some. You have to experiment. Every drummer I know has a stack of heads in their closet that they experimented with. And don't neglect the snares. Even thought they look OK, they stretch and need to be replaced periodically.

Well first off, change the heads. Stock heads usually don't sound too great on any drum anyway.
Here's what I'd recommend:
Go out and get a medium-thickness, coated snare head (Evans G1 or G2 Coated, Remo Coated Ambassador). Then when you put the new head on, before putting the rim back on, press (with your palm) into the center of the head and don't be afraid to put a lot of your weight into it. This is called "seating" the drumhead so it doesn't go out of tune a few days after you've tuned it.
My guess is that the current heads were never seated properly, if at all. Also, the "bumps" are the brush coating on the head. After awhile, more quickly on stock heads from the factory, the coating will wear off and just the smooth white drumheads will be left. But that's normal and doesn't affect the sound too much at all.

Stock heads on starter/mid level kits aren't usually too good. Go to the music store and get a good batter head.
Bumps? Are these actual bumps or are you looking at dents and calling them bumps? If they are, in fact, dents you still need to replace the head selecting one more durable to suit your style. (In other words, it sounds like you're hitting pretty hard.)
Are your sticks in good shape?

AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa the coating has worn off, has it got a patch that is smooth grew instead of rough white?
That shouldn't cause a problem.
Dunno what else it could be though.

Firstly) I agre *** intnet splns r *** (True that was taking "cht spk" to its extrem but on forums theres no need for it, it has 2 uses, character and time saving in text meassages and time saving in real time chat. Neither of those apply here so I tend to respect a person more if they type properly.)
Secondly) Experiment, start off buying a medium thickness head, say a coated ambasader thats a very common choice, then see if want a heaveayer or a lighter sound ect....
Oh + " I luved it!" Luved or loved, sme num of chrctrs whts goin on thre?

Im just complaining about excessive use of writting short cuts, you know the kind that make no sence like the obvious ones r okay (u = you, r = are, 2 = too, to two, c = see, wen = when, wat = what, ur = your etc etc etc....)
but like wen they use shorcuts like in this sencence...
sme num of chrctrs whts goin on thre?

I'd change the top and the bottom heads and see what happens. It could ave been that you tuned the heads a strange way causing bizarre strain on the head and making it wear out very fast.
just as an aisde, elite speak is annoying
