i have an aax perf pack too, its good. how do you like it? if you wanted to stick with aax and save some money you could get the expansion set which is a 10" splash and an 18" chinese. if it was me, id a get another crash, a 17 or an 18, then a chinese then a splash. www.sabian.com has sound samples on which a reasonably accurate.
cheers
Jamie

get a um, whats it, a 19 xplsion crash, or 17 xtreme china if thats the right thing for them, or it could be 19 xtreme crash and 17 xplosion china. but hey. or a nice crash, personally i would go for a sweet crash

Hey Jonesie,

I started with the same starter pack and also bought the effects pack. While I liked the hats, crash and splash I found the Stage Ride had waaay to much wash for my liking and the 18" China was a little too "gong-ie" for my taste. I ended up selling the Ride to buy a 20" AA Rock Ride and picked up a 16" AAX China (and then a 14" Mini-China) after selling the 18" China (my setup:http://66.40.220.17/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7381).

Adding a 18" and/or 17" Stage Crash would be a great addition (I love those Stage Crashes). AA Splashes have a great thin sound while the AAX Splashes have a little thicker sound with shorter sustain.

Take the time to go to your local drum shop and annoy the hell out of everyone by pulling a bunch of cymbals off the wall, setting them up and banging on them. It's the best way to make sure you're 100% happy with what you bring home.

Get an 18" AAX stage crash and then 10" AAX splash (nice! i have one) and then a china.

Yeah cymbals are so f@#king expensive in Australia. $400+ for a good crash!
