You mean marks from drumsticks? You can just clean that off with some cymbal cleaner (Groovejuice, Zildjian Stuff) or lemon juice.....

The white marks on your cymbals is the coating on your drumheads. If your using coated Remo heads on any of your drums thats where its coming from. The coating on Evans heads do not do this.

Its generally caused by the varnish or lacquer on wood sticks or nylon tips. As for it being the head coating and it wont happen with Evans heads, i would disagree. My friend has Evans coated heads on his kit and he has white marks on all his cymbals too. Its not the heads.

impossible with the heads cymbal marks things. I agree with slip its not the heads. cuz wen i had clear heads i got marks on my cymbals. i have coated heads now and i have less marks. but its not the heads. i think it might be vic firth sticks. i used to use those and they left plenty of marks everywhere. pro mark and vater sticks dont do that. and evans coated heads do leave white marks on ur sticks. their coating is crap. wen the coating comes off a lot comes off. thats y use remo coated ambassadors. havent had a problem yet. like i said in another post. evans coated heads are badly manufactured. they sound ok but not as nice as remo. the only good evans head is the EQ heads. (especially the EQ3)

i use vater fusions and get the stick marks all over the place, but you can only see them under a certain type of light.....they look fine in bright lights. very bizarre. Could anyone find out why those stick marks happen? It'd be great to know...

Sk8drummer, I strongly disagree that the "only good evans head is the EQ series". Ever played an EMAD?

yo anti, sry if i wasnt clear i meant out of the G1 and G2 coated(cuz those r like the only heads im familiar with in Evans). i just like the EQ bass heads(also familiar with that). no ive never played an EMAD (not really sure wat that is). hey if u say its good, im might just give it a try.
