I have always used the bass mounts to set up my toms but, I want to use the snare stand to mount the 9x12 and use the two floor tom on the side. How do you think that would look?

hmm i think it would look better if u mounted it on a stand with a proper tom mount (I.S.S ect.) It would probably sound a lot better too

Not to mention then you wouldn't have to buy another snare stand for your snare.....

Sorry that picture wasnt a pearl but its all I could find. Myself, I dont really like the look of the set, however I do like how low you can get that first tom. Its all in your own preference.

its going to be hard to do triplets on the toms if your toms are setup like that..

I'd shift both toms to the left so that the right one would be where the left one once was, and the left one would be on the left of it.just get a clamp and you're set. I think it would look smarter and sound better if you did that. I also think it would be easier to play as well. I tried sumthin like that with my kit but didn't like the end result but thats just my opinion, if you like it go for it and enjoy it. Cheers
What size are your floor toms?
I have a 13 tom on a snare stand and a 15,18 on the floor for one kit. Looks CLASSIC! Although the reach is a bit more from front to the first floor. For a 12" tom on a pearl stand, you may want to consider getting the set of 3 Pearl stand adapters they have for piccollo snares. They are like claw spacers. And if you have to buy a snare stand special for this, get the extended concert one.

I believe that L &%@!G set-up is called the "Zep set", a mimic of the kit the legendary John Bonham played. I dont care for that type of set-up myself, but to each his own.

i don't think that tom is that low. It just looks that way next to that monster 26" bass. (someone correct me if I'm wrong... but I'm pretty sure that kit comes with a 26")

Yes, Friendless Wonder, it is a 14 x 26 in bass drum, along with a 14 x 12, 16 x 16, and 16 x 18 toms.
