The New Optimounts Featured On The Reference Series Look Mean!!!!
Do They Work The Same Way As The Original Optimounts??
Do They Fit A 5-lug/ 8 Inch Tom?

They sure do look sweet. They actually started offering them last year on the Masterworks. And YES and YES to your 2 questions. ;)
PS - I'm 99% sure Pearl does NOT offer them seperately. You can only get them with the purchase of a Reference or Masterworks.

PS - I'm 99% sure Pearl does NOT offer them seperately. You can only get them with the purchase of a Reference or Masterworks.

same hardware as masterworks, just not offered in the diffrnt colors.
what's so spécial with the new optimounts ??? just the design or is there more to it ?

The big thing is they are one piece. The older Optimounts were a plate, a top and bottom, the two tie plates and the BB-3 all bolted together. The new ones are sleek, one piece units.

They also don't cover up the drum as much, which was sort of an issue with the previous model

i like em. they need to offer one for 18" drums instead of two so we can mount 18" floors.

but you cant buy black ones yet can you!!!! but there available on masterworks am i right....so techinicaly you could but them for a masterworks and but them on another kit...i want new ones for my MMX

I thought all the hardware was available in black/satin/gold. However it is 40% more expensive.

All new hardware is available only in chrome... We will see what will happen after Summer NAMM
