What is exactly the new Trashformer?

D u know the Zildjian ZXT Trashformer? I don't know anything about it... D u have it? It is good? Does it sounds cool? How well is it? What kind of sound it has... ?

The "Trashformer" is a strange beast indeed. I've got a few of them at the store I work at. It's basically a 14" crash that looks really ugly. Are you familiar with the "Crash of Doom"? It's sound is close to that of a china cymbal but it's even trashier with a quick sustain. I'm thinking of getting one for my kit.

Yah ugly is one thing. I just bought one and its neat. Its not flat so it gives the nastiest sound when on top of another cymbal. i have it mounted on top of a Sabian B8 pro china.

I have one and it sound almost like my 15" AAXtreme Chinese cymbal with a weirder decay. If you buy one, never use "Groove Juice" on it as it will take off the protective covering and the cymbal will rust (Mine is doing that right now :( ). Also, the cymbal has cracked at the bend, even though I do not hit it in that area. It still sounds cool though.

I have played with them at the local GC. Its cool looking, its bent like a flower and purple. The sound is not bad, but i cant figure out where i would use it.

i guess if you were poor and you really wanted a trashformer you could probably take your old crash cymbal out and run it over with your car a few times :D

Never heard of them before. Is it the same as the Paiste Exotic Percussion Trash Set?

i thought the whole idea of the trashformer was that you stacked it on another cymbal to "trashform" the sound, not as a crash.
