I'm guessing everyone will be waiting about the same amount of time you are. Pearl took alot of Orders for the "Reference" series at Namm. All of those kits will be made before the "general" public kits will be made.

Yep.

I wonder why Pearl decided not to offer 24x20 or 20x20 sizes. Luckily I'd rather have the 22x20 anyway though :D

Is the 20" depth only available in thr Reference series?

That's a NO.
There are 22x20 bass drums available in all of the Masters Series Drums aswell.

I went to london to mark angelo studios to see the new reference kit in action

gene okamoto and raymond massey were there to demo the kit and tell us all about it, it was awesome. raymond played the kit it, man that guy can play. there were only a handfull of uk dealers there, but it was well worth it i got to play the kit, try the snares and was more than happy with the sound,i tried all three snares side by side the 14/5 is definately for me the 13 was a bit to focused and the 14/6.5 was a bit to airy but the were all great, but for my personal taste the 14/5 was just right

after playing the the snares you would not believe they were twenty ply, they sound great and they are still sensitive and have alot of everything you would want from a snare.

the bass drum 22x20 just has it all, the bass you would want but the depth makes it very easy to tune to give you a fat, focused, and thundersome tone

basically they are awesome, yes everything about them is awesome

sell your home, your family, your car, rob a bank, anything.

just make sure you own one of these kits
like pearl said "its the best sounding drumkit they have ever made"

ps. for those who wanted to know the kit is costing me about £3000 uk sterling, in my opinion priceless, now go buy one .................

Wow! That's a lot of money for a 4-piece. I'm sure it'll sound great though.
