That new diamond gloss looks real sweet. I was looking into a midnight fade with black hardware but now since I've seen diamond gloss I want that. How long till diamond gloss will be available?

Diamond Gloss is the best finish I've seen from any drum company ever. I know have the NAMM pic as my desktop wallpaper.
Hopefully I'll own one, someday.

Thanks for telling me to look in Namm Pics, I didn't see them in Namm Review, but looked at the home page Namm photos, Thanks.
I am still trying to recover from my ecstacy at finding another Silver Sparkle Limited Edition 6 pc kit to go with my 5 pc I already have. I am anxious to hear that matching snare.
Meanwhile I took all the heads off my current Silvers to clean them so they will be presentable to meet their twin brothers.
I was told by the seller the sizes are 10x9, 12x10, 14x12 16x14 22x16 and 14x6 snare. If the 10 is indeed a 10x9, that will be the only different size from my original 5 pc. It has a 10x10.
Will post pics when they arrive.

Thank you! This purchase is still contingent on 2 more marking periods. His School just bought a SRX with a 18" bass in Dusk Blue and he never stops talking about how his school kit is better than his 7 year old Stage Custom. So we've decided to get him a new kit. I just don't know if it will be the SRX or the MMX in Diamond Gloss. I gotta be honest the SRX kits sound great. I'm going to a local Guitar Center that has both SRX & MMX and I'll make my decision then!

As an SRX owner, I agree they're great.
You might want to get on the Masters Forum, seems like a lot of folks opted for the Birch over Maple...don't know personally, I have not played birch. See what your son thinks too obviously.

I also own an SRX kit, an older one thats out of print, and let me tell you the story behind it real quick, I bought it off ebay because I really just wanted the ICON rack, but this guy was selling a 7pc all white, not wrap though, finished drum set with the rack, bran new cymbals, one of which was an A custom! Hardshell cases for all the drums, a DW 5000 double pedal, snare stand hi-hat stand, two pairs of hi-hats, everything he had for $1000! And I was gonna sell the drums because when I got them they looked like they had been dragged behind a truck down a red clay road! And this guy...you know the remo muffle rings that go inside the toms right, well instead of using the plastic craddle thing thats supposed to hold them in, he used some kind of adhesive and stuck it right to the shell! So I cleaned all the drums up, all the dust off, pulled out the remo mufflers, used mineral spirits to get all the sticky stuff out, bought new heads just to see what would happen, and no lie! I have had a tama rockstar! A DW pacific set, a Ludiwg Classic maple Van-Halen Identical set (from 1995 Balance tour) and a DW collectors edition set, and my old SRX has sounded the best so far! and I used to think Pearl Drums were the K-Mart brand drum company! And since I cant afford a masterworks im gonna by a 7pc MMX in Diamond Gloss! If you want to hear my SRX set you my band is on BandFront.com and we're called Advocate! Its not a Million Dollar recording but we used Pro tools and decent mics. The only drum that isnt a Pearl is my Van Halen snare. Its a 6.5x14 hand hammered Super sensitive ludwig! Anyways, good luck on your buying, im sure your son will love either set, and I cant wait to get my Diamond Gloss set!

Thats a beautiful color. I like this a whole lot too...

I must say whatever color that is above this post also looks great.
When I first saw the Diamond Burst, I just thought it looks so mean! It reminds me of some dark, sinister black-and-white horror movie that is actually scary! That drum kit would scare people, especially with black hardware.
I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to spring for a Masters kit this year, and I very much prefer the Diamond Gloss w/ black hardware, but will have to special order it for the BRX series. I like the sound of birch, and can't justify spending extra for maple, even though maple is a great sounding wood.
If I have to wait for 5-6 months, so be it. I'll have it paid off by then. Now if I can get up the courage to order a kit bigger than a 6-piece.....that would look more intimidating yet!
Darn shame Paiste doesn't make Black ColorSound cymbals anymore, they would really top off that kit.

Well the bad news is the SRX is not availble in Diamond Gloss - only the Masters. Also SRX is only available in 6 ply maple - birch or mahogany are not available in SRX.
The SRX has a lot of the important upgraded features of the Masters series.
Here are SRX colors - I have Vintage Fade which is one of the reasons I bought the SRX. It reminds me of a vintage Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst. (This picture does not do them justice)

how much it cost you? and did you get two 14"s, or is that a typo?

Yeah it was a typo, it was supposed to be a 14x16. The set only cost 2889 and I also bought a belt drive eliminator pedal as well as hi-hat! So all together I think it will run me 3287....ill try and get some pictures up as soon as I get them!
