(Sorry, folks, I posted this to the "Hardware" section, maybe I should've posted it here first. Forgive my newbie error).
I've a problem with my 201-P bass pedal, maybe someone can help me out with a solution. I've had the pedal for about six years, and it's a fine pedal, but...now it won't tighten on the bass drum hoop sufficiently enough so that it won't move during a gig. If I slide a thin piece of cardboard between the upper side of the clamp and the BD hoop, it tightens up just fine. The clamp (which was replaced a couple of years ago) appears to be working fine - when the pedal is off the hoop, the clamp closes to the extent that it would be totally impossible to slide the pedal on to the hoop (it closes to about half the hoop thickness, maybe even less than that) - and it's not that the BD hoop has become "compressed", I've moved the hoop round to check that. There doesn't seem to be anything missing from the pedal. BTW - I'm not a young beginner, I'm 46 and have been gigging every week for the past 30 years or so, and I'm sure I'd spot anything obviously wrong with the pedal, clamp or hoop.
Would anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem is? More importantly, how can I fix it?
Thanks
