Are there any well known artists who use/endorse the Export line??? And are there any albums which the Exports have been used on??
Cheerz!

Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers toured and performed with a custom painted export, and thought very highly of it (apparently). i dont think he used it on any albums though, correct me if im wrong

Most up and coming drummers
started out on Pearl Exports. If
you saw the recent interview
Mike Wengren of Disturbed, he said
he started out on an Export kit
and played it until they were
signed. The sizes for his 7-piece
kit were 12”, 13” toms and
16”, 18” floor toms with two 22”
kicks. For those eagle eyes out
there, it's the bass drum that's
on his Masters Series ad.
Ken Jay of Static X played an Export
kit until they toured with their
second major release.
Thanks for the question.

OK, I will.
AS far as I know Chad plays live with Pearl MRX's and Records with Gretsch snares and I think gretsch kits. But I have a feeling he might use Ludwigs for certain tracks.
Jon
(Don't ask me what Gretsch he uses- I
A) Don't have a clue
and
B) Don't know anything about Gretsch kits apart from they look nice.)

Good Lord men! Why not admire the girl for putting enough effort into her work to get hired in the first place?? This is the USA--The Land of Opportunity. Some times it's hard work, sometimes a little luck comes into play. Meg was willing to do what it took, and made some smart decisions along the way. Ringo wasn't the best either--he's certainly no Dave Weckl. But he did work hard with what he had, and made some smart decisions too. And he had some luck--it was the Beatles, and not the Dave Clark Five who approached him for the gig--and I say more power to them!
Take and keep a positive outlook; envy is too much like work.
maybe i was a bit too harsh on her lol:D
does any one like the white stripes??
p.s did you say ringo cos im from liverpool by anychance???:p

Well, yeah. I do.
I think they have real potential, though Jack badly need singing lessons and a decent producer to make him a better writer. But there's real talent there, if you give them a chance.
yeah he does sing a bit wacky doesnt he ? ive seen them only a few times on the telly i didnt really like them, maybe bad first impression, i dont know!

first of all, about Chad Smith, I am positive he used an export kit for one tour. Im sure he normally tours with some masters series set, but for whatever reason, he used exports for one tour. Im not sure what tour it was cause Im not a huge fan, but I believe I have heard one of the pearl forum guys say it.
Ohh yeh, and is Meg White endorsed by Pearl??? Personally, it seems to me from listening to her drumming, that she has only recently began drumming, and her grooves still have that beginner type feel to them. I guess though, that the style music they play doesnt require ultra talented musicians though... I really like the guitarist, though I dont know his name.

As for the Chad Smith comments... Has anyone seen the pearl drum video yet...Chad said on the video that he uses 6-ply Masters for the shows and a birch kit in the studio....

This may be a hard pill to swallow, but I believe that Chad Smith used the same DW kit and set-up in the studio for the recording of their last two albums. This is actually a pretty common thing in the industry these days. If they have a kit in the studio that is tuned and set the way they want it for recording, then the artist just shows up and plays the songs. I read that in an article in a drum publication within the past 3 or 4 months in Chad's own words.

yes, we all understand that. what some of us are saying though, is that for one tour, and one tour only, Chad toured with an export. I bet you are right that most of the time he does use masters drums, but for this ONE TOUR, he used an export kit.

Well, Gee, wouldn't it be a great thing if someone from Pearl would chime in about now and answer these questions? Hey, I bet they could call up Chad and say there are a lot of fans on our forum that have these questions for you. Or better yet, have a live session with chad on the forum, where questions could be asked. I'm sure Chad could spare a couple of hours for Pearl. I bet it would be a good idea, as well, since they have a new recording out he could plug.
I also think it would have been a nice idea to do the same with Donna C, since she was just at Pearl HQ today.
Just some thoughts, I wouldn't think Pearl would like people saying that Chad is playing on some ugly DWs for his recordings when he could be playing his Masters.
Also, I am available if Pearl needs a PR guy.:D
