What would you recommend???

As you may or may not know, i have an ELX custom kit in autumn fade finish. I am thinking about expanding my kit. I will have to wait about 4 months until autumn fade is available for add-on toms. During this time i should be able to save up the money i need for it. I am undecided between buying a 16x14" tom or buying some new cymbals. I am currently using Sabian B8 hats, crashes & ride with AAX splash and Hand Hammered Chinese. For the price of the 16x14" tom expansion pack i could probably buy 2 Sabian AA or AAX cymbals. Am i better off making my kit a 6 piece or upgrading my B8 cymbals? Opinions and suggestions please......

well, do u like the sound of your B8's??????? if not then buy cymbals, if yes, then buy the drum. this isnt helpin is it? flip a coin, it works for me. sry for the no help.

I got the B8 pack too. I like all of them exept the ride. My opinion? Buy the cymbals.

My first instinct is to go for the cymbals. I use AA's and AAX's and they are well worth the money. In my opinion, you can put a new head on a cheap drum and tweak it to make it sound pretty good, but you can't make a cheaper cymbal sound like a better cymbal. However, having been victimized by color cancellation last year, if it is going to be a while before you get some more cash, I would get the tom ASAP to make sure they don't cancel your color and leave you hanging.

Definately go with the cymbals. A combination of AA's, AAX's and HHX will get you some seriously good sounds. Plus, with good cymbals, your set will automatically sound better.

I'm a firm believer in "more is better". Get the tom. You already have Sabian cymbals--plus like dude said, you never know when they might cancel your colour. Get the tom while you can--you can always upgrade the cymbals later.

If it's a choice of one or the other, I'd say upgrade your cymbals. However, you could maybe compramise and add a tom, and only replace one or two cymbals.

I recently changed B8 pack for AAX Stage pack (ride, hats and crash)..... and I'm really satisfied with my choice ... get the cymbals ....

Yeah i think i'' get cymbals. By the time i save up enough money i might have changed my mind but i'll probably get new cymbals because i noticed i have a small crack about half an inch long on my 16" B8 thin crash. Thanx for your help!

before I get more drums, I would make sure my current set-up met my expectations. I'm not too fond of the B8 line, so I would get the cymbals too. I believe someone said it before in here...quality above quanity.
