Eliminator peadls, chain or belt driven?

I am planning on buying the pearl eliminator double pedal very soon. in a store that stocks them the guy there advised against getting the chain driven one, he said that the chains snap the cams. whereas the strap does not and is very strong. will the cams break on the chain driven, and which one would be the best choice anyway, chain or belt?

i've tried and used both the chain and belt, but i have stuck with the belt ..its nice

It makes no difference, buy either pedal, because you can buy additional strap or belt so you can actually try both on the same pedal, The chain isn't bad for the cams( I don' think Pearl would make them that way).
