they come with pro tone heads. I ordered an export tom about 2 weeks ago and it had a pro tone head. Thats pretty standard for them to come with those heads.
Thats right, I got an ELX kit for my son for Christmas and each drum has protone heads from Pearl. We just put new heads on for better sound quality but those protones wern't all that bad.
Just my 2 cts worth. Thanks, Rich.

Hey Rich,
Hope you like your ELX! What new heads did you put on the drums?
Hi Rory444, That kit is my sons but we put Evans Hydraulics Black on the batter sides of the toms, EQ3 on the bass and a Genera HD Dry batter on the snare. They sound real good. That bass sounds like a cannon! Rich.

They also come with an ISS mount, btw... (or that's the impression I've gotten, someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

my 8" tom came with a ISS mount but no tom holder arm, my 16" came with a ISS mount, tom holder TH88S, stand T800W and a AX35 three hole adapter.
And they both had the pro tone heads. I am planning on upgrading the batter heads but they sound good and I don't know if it is really worth the money for the difference in sound quality. Is it?
I would say its only worth it if you are out playing gigs. If you are at home practising I would not change a thing. Rich.

I didn't bother with changing the factory heads
right away...they didn't sound all that bad after
tweaking with the tuning a bit.
As a 'drummer in poverty' I have to get as much
use as possible out of my heads, so it may take
me a while to find the 'perfect' heads
:)
