Ive been checking out double pedals, especially the DW line of them, and i noticed they can be about 200-400 dollars. why are they so expensive?

I saw the delta turbo II and its like 360, sheesh.

Anybody know of a GREAT pedal for 250, thats about what i want to spend on a double.

I hope you guys can help me out

Basically, your paying for two complete pedals which normally are in the $150.00 range each. Then you have the shaft and related componenets. So the fact you can get an Iron Cobra double for $220.00 at Guitar center is actually a good deal.

the best way to get a cheap double bass pedal is ebay, ive seen pedals ranging from $75-$500, actually i saw a db pedal (iron cobra) for $100, the only thing is that ebay is risky, but sometimes it can be worth the risk

i got my Pearl Powershifter Eliminator Double Pedal for 245.95. and no, it wasnt stolen, it wasnt even off ebay. Musician's Friend had it on sale for like 255, so i went to Music123.com and did their little price match thing and they sent me a custom quote and i got it for 245.95, no tax no shipping. try a tama lower class double pedal, theyre basically the same thing as iron cobras, just, well you know, cheaper, less expensive equipment on them.

You are getting two pedals (plus the connectors). Each pedal could be used separately. Of course it's going to cost more money.

If you have an existing pedal, sometimes the manufacturer produces an add-on left-pedal assembly. That way you don't have to buy a DB pedal and waste your existing single pedal.

Pearl does that - WAY TO GO Pearl! :D

They offer left OR right pedal assembly add-ons for the righty and lefty players in the 2001, 201, and 101 models

If you want to see some pics, visit:
AJ's Pro Percussion (http://www.ajpropercussion.com/default.htm)

You didn't say if your current pedal is a Pearl or not - if so this could save you some dough to buy those Paiste 14" Sound Edge Hihats. :p

ha! you guys should think yourself lucky - a double eliminator in the UK costs around 260 pounds - that's about 425 dollars!
needless to say, I can't afford one right now.... (or even a P100TW (best part of 250 dollars)...

Nez, forgive my stupidity if i am incorrect, but why cant comeone int he US buy a double eliminator, throw it in a box and mail it you so you can save $200.00?????. There has to be a catch, what is it?

If you buy online I would think you'd get the same price, maybe extra for shipping.

You would save a little if somebody threw a pedal in a box but you get charged vat at 17.5% and then delivery from the states is quite expensive $25-40 ish. You would of course save the vendors profit. However, he could try Thomann's in Germany who have an English web page. Not everything is a bargain but there are some to be had, maybe on bass pedals?

I doubt you can mix pedal models...but in my post I said all three models have add-ons. Go to the link in my post and scroll down, you will see the 3 models offered with add-ons for sale at AJ's Pro Percussion. I don't know if the model P-101 or the P-201 came with your set. Do either of these pictures match your pedal?

i think its the pearl one with the single chain thing on it, cuz i know it doesnt have a double chain, and the pic looks a lot like my pedal.

I have a pearl elx 2001 kit. The pedal that came stock with the set is the P100, it is a step below the P101.

I believe the only 3 models Pearl makes the add-on double-bass pedals for are all PowerShifter models not the PowerPro models. The PowerPro models are the P100 and P200.

You might want to contact AJ's Pro Percussion in Tampa, I've seen them advertised on their website. Good guys - I've used them plenty.

I just looked in Pearl 2002 price list catalog, and under the double pedal section they ofer a P-100TW PowerPro, complete right, and also a P-100WL PowerPro, complete left, and they also have the add on pedal for all grades up the line. I hope this helps. Oh the list price is $299.00US, so you can order from one of the many sites that give 50% off list on hardware.

Correct, that's a complete double-bass pedal not an add-on.

The earlier post from HSEdrumz05 was inquiring about an add-on to the existing single pedal. That way you are reusing the existing pedal and turning it into a double-pedal. That only seems to be an option for the PowerShifter series (to buy an add-on), not for the PowerPro series.
