S-885W Problems

Gene, my school has a few S-885W concert snare stands, and there is a problem with one. On the Uni-Lock basket adjustment system, the t-handle couldn't turn enough to tighten it. I had to move the basked to a 90 degree angle and then tighten it and then try and put it flat again so I can actually play on it. I had this problem on one of the other stands as well but I solved them by doind this. But don't you think its sort of a bad design? I mean, it makes for really bad adjustments if you have to turn it more the t-bar than 90 degrees.

Please take a look at the rear of the bolt the that T-handle threads onto. Has it backed out? If yes, try tightening it then see if the normal function of the tilter is restored. Please let me know.

At school I whipped out my trusty Swiss Army Knife and fixed it. Once again, thanks for all of your help.

you must remember, canada doesn't have columbine type things going on and prolly a knife isn't that big of a deal. In the US, you take a knife to school you get suspended 10 days, then expelled, you mug shot will end up on the front page of the news paperand the nightly news will have it as the top story, breaking news on CNN and every tabloid will want to interview your friends. all of this for just a tiny swiss army knife. yes people it's true, America is going to hell in a hand-basket.
