I got this dude who wants to sell a Sabian B-8 Pro medium Ride cymbal for 10 dollars. He says it's a 2001 model. This sounds like a steal but somebody let me know something about this.

For ten bucks if it has no cracks or anything I'd buy it just because it's ten bucks

yeah.....B8 Pro cymbals sound pretty nice, and if that ride is better than you're playing now, buy it. I find B8 Pro's acceptable to gig with.

Have you tried any of the Pro Sonix range??? I have a 16" Crash and was thnking of getting a set up based on this series, as the price doesnt hurt too much and listening to the samples on the Sabian site they sound OK - any opinions on the sound quality - preferably in a live band setting - I play in a rock covers band if it helps.

Yes! the Pro Sonix sound amazing for the price...actually they sound amazing even if they cost twice what they do. You might want to look around at some AAX or AA cymbals. They are only a little more than what you would pay for a Pro Sonix, and they will most likely sound nicer, longer(seeing how they are cast bronze as opposed to sheet bronze) Anyways, they are definetly worth checking out if you are looking for new cymbals.

I'd buy the ride even if it was in rough shape, make an effect out of it
Sounds like a steal to me. Check the condition and play it for sound quality. If you like what you hear, go for it! Rich.
