What types of head are you using, what kind of music do you play and what kind of sound do you want?

Ok, You seem to be playing the same kind of music that I usually play, I listen to Metalllica alot. I recomend buying new heads on the toms, clear pinstripes on top and clear ambassadors on bottom.

And try setting the drumdial to a 75 on top and 75 on bottom then mess around with it from there, The settings that I like on my mmx is
75/75
73/75
77/75
but this is just for the toms and floors, I generally don't use the drumdial on my bassdrum, I just tune them really low, not even passed the wrinkles sometimes, and I use and evans eqpad inside pressed up against my batter head. Now, if you like to get that pantera bassdrum sound, try taping a coin to you batterhead, where the beater(s) meet the head(BUT this will break the head faster, in most cases).

The snare is a matter of do you want high pitch or low, In high pitch is use somewhere around 90 on top and the bottom is around 85. If you want low sound I recomend the Evans sd dry head as a batter because of its internal mufflering. But in low tunings I don't use the drumdial(and I go for the CORROSION OF CONFORMITY sound) which is easy to get if you use this head.

I recieved an e-mail from the new drummer of godsmack in which he said:
"i use remos all the way around...pinstripes on the tops , ambassadors on the bottom...powerstroke 3 kick drum head...coated cs controlled sound with black dot on bottom of the head for my snare. hope this helps.cheers, shannon"

I've actually been using clear pinstripe/ clear ambassadors andn powerstrokes on both sides of my bassdrum. But I use evans sd dry on the top of my snare(This drumhead has a mufflering inside the head), And evans have200 on the bottom of my snare. I recently broke the batter head of my bassdrum and tried using evans eq2, and I like it alot. But the powerstrokes(which are stockheads on the mmx kits) are great as well.

Now, I used these settings on my premier cabria exclusive as well, but I haven't tried them on any exports so the settings on the drumdial may be a little different for you, but hopefully this will be a good starting point for you.

also, you can visit the drumdial website

Drumdial (http://www.drumdial.com/)

And email them with your drumsizes, and the type of drumkit you have, the type of heads you use and what kind of sound you want. I don't remember the guy's name but he'll respond quickly.

I also noticed that you were confused about how to state your drumsizes 8x10 or 10x8. Both methods are used but I always use the first one. I have a snare that is 14" in diameter and 5.5" deep. So I have a 5.5"x14" snare.

again, I hope this helps, and let me know how this turns out for you, and don't hesitate to ask for further assistance.
