i just got into the aquarian double thins. but im using my export. how would they sound on the BRX? im actually thinking about gettin double thin coated tho.
i dont really play too hard so i was lookin for a single ply, but i like my toms to be deep, focused sound, something that will help project more, with less overtones. any suggestions?

I've used Aquarian Doublethins on and off for about a year and a half on my BRX kit. I play blues and classic rock. I find them to give the perfect balance of resonance and tone. More warmth and lower frequencies than a single ply and more resonance than a thick double.

For my BRX kit Gene Okamoto recommended using Aquarian Response II's for batter and the Double Thins for resonate heads. For a single ply head Classic Clears would sound good on either resonate or batter.
I'm using Response II's for batter and Classic Clears for reso. They sound really good and punchy.
Personally I wouldn't use the Double Thins if you are looking for something that will "project more, with less overtones." Try the Classic Clear or the Response II on your batter side and leave the Double Thins on the reso side.

Not to break the brand here, but I use clear Pinstripes batter and clear ambassador reso, and it sounds awesome.
I currently have the stock heads on my BRX (Clear Remo Ambassador on batter and reso) I have the kit sounding great. Although I may change to either cleare Emperors or G2s on the batter for a little more boom.

I use the coated double-thins on both my four and six ply birch toms with high frequencies on the bottoms. To me this is a great head combo for birch drums.
