The latest issue of Modern Drummer Magazine, in a response to a reader letter, states that it is possible to create a 2-tier rack out of two DR-501/503's. The response doesn't explain how, and the post in the Product Buzz Forum above doesn't specify how it is done, either. Help?
Sorry if this has been asked several times before -- if so, please just provide a link to the answer.

The new DR-503 comes standard with two PCL-100 accessory clamps.
The vertical legs on the DR-503 (and all other ICON racks) have a prong at the bottom that is 7/8" in diameter.
You can put this prong into the PCL-100 thus extending the height of the rack. The cross bar from the DR-501 then becomes the second tier.
We have a rack set up like this at the Summer NAMM show. I'll post a photo of it as soon as I can.

...
Great, now I have to change my pants.
Well, let me see this for you guys at Pearl, if it's one thing that always impresses me, it's your creativeness when it comes to setting-up kits for display purposes.
:D
Now that is a true thing of beauty. It brings a tear to my eye to see that some people truly do appreciate a setup that is too large for words.
Also, are to octobon like drums (I think you all call them rocket toms or something like that) availiable "off the shelf" or are they custom items.
Thanks!

They're called Quarter Toms and they're off the shelf.
All are 6" in diameter. Lengths are:12", 15", 18", and 21". The shells are made of aluminum. They are available separately or in sets.

Gene, I have had some PCL-100 on order from a dealer for awhile, but they tell me Pearl has yet to ship any. Do you know when this might be?
thanx,
Mark

Would there be a way to have a 2 tier rack on a double bass kit without having t vertical bars in the top front?
