Hi,

I just bought myself a new masters kit there recently and living in Ireland i found it very hard to get the colour i wanted! Now it is my dream kit and i dont want to sell it so i was just wondering would it be possible to order some sort of laminate or covering in a different finish from anywhere or what other alternatives are there? Basically i want to change the colour of my kit! Can it be done? My email address is

niall_os@hotmail.com

Much appreciated and look forward to your response!

Niall

Recovering your kit IS possible. Check on the Internet for shops that sell recovering material. Doing so will void the warranty so please consider carefully before starting.

I saw an ad in Modern Drummer a ways back for a company that sold fabric covers for drums. You can stretch the fabric over your drums like a sock (with holes cut out for the lugs) and give them a whole new look - no kidding! Do some internet searching and see what you come up with. I'm sure you can get almost any color you want and you won't have to modify your drums in any way.

Try www.drummaker.com or www.sambarnard.net

I definitely can recommend www.sambarnard.net. If you call and ask, they'll send a sample pack. The pack matches what you see on your monitor pretty well. His adhesive system is easy to use, and least likely to mar the finish on your kit.

It seems like an awful shame to cover a lacqured kit. You should really reconsider this or else live with the finish you have or trade in for the finish you want.

Ye i started to think twice on it and i have my eye on a platnum mist masters with black lugs hardware etc, which wont set me back alot cause my antique gold masters at the mo is only 2 months old! I would love to get one of sam banards wraps but he has no email address, i live in ireland and basically it would be one big pain in the ***, when for the same price i can sell my kit and get a new one! But i seen it done on slipknot 1's kit in the"let us see ur kits forum" and wraps do look amazing! Drum companys only put cool colours on signature kits (eccept dw of coarse) and with pearl the masterworks kits and i cant afford a masterworks kit!

Where in Ireland are you, Niall? I'm in Northern Ireland, about 17 miles from Belfast, but I play all over Ireland.
