Spun or not...

Does any one have any facts on snare drum shell's that is spun compared to shell that are rolled and welded? I'd like to know if there are any significant differences in sound cause some companies swear on the fact that their spun shell are rounder/more perfect/etc.. than the others

Maybe somebody at R&D could explain why Pearl don't have spun brass/aluminum/metal shells on their snare drum line.
