what do you guys think of them?
I've never seen one in person, much less played on one. But, I've heard they are very high quality (their top-of-the-line, that is).

My friend had me tune some drummers porkpie snare that he was recording and it must have been a cheep one because I couldn't get the thing to sound decent at all. The snare strainer seemed pretty flimsy and I couldn't really see a snare bed cut into it at all. Tim Alexander of Primus played Pork Pie for a while so check out Sailing the Seas of Cheese or Pork Soda to hear them. I own a Spaun 24ply maple, Yamaha absolute maple, and a Mapex Brass Black Panther. Go to www.oldmanjohnson.com to hear recordings of these drums. The Spaun snare is on the original songs and the Mapex snare is on the Green Day cover songs.

love 'em!
great popcorn and piccolo's, but have yet to try the larger sized ones. still, great sound, and nice workmanship.
I've only played the smaller and sopranino models, but from what I've heard so far, I love em.

My drum teacher brought in his 6x13 snare. I think it was had birch shell, but anyways I thought it sounded awesome, superb rimshots.
