black free floater??

im getting a black kit and a freefloater. i want to see what a black free floater looks like. if some one has a pic that would great if u could post it for me.

or if u have photo shop, u could color this pic for me. drum313 maybe??

Generally, you'll find that black freefloaters tend to pretty black, a lot blacker looking than the freefloaters that aren't black.

yeh, pearl makes a black steel freefloater, and you can probly find a pic of that on the pearl website. and I didnt see an answer to whoever asked if you want piano black or black mist. there is definatly a difference.

I dont exactly know what a free floater neccesarily sounds like either, or how the free floating sytem works in general. Someone explain!

piano black, i would like to see black mist too. free floaters r the bomb, they r the best snares pearl has. to me any ways.

look at the pic i posted . free floating means the shell is almost floating in the drum. in other words no hard ware is touching the shell.

They're supposed to be louder and more resonant than drums of comparable dimensions and construction. I think so, I tried a pretty nice 6.5"x14" Maple Freefloater, pretty fat and deep.

here is a picture I found in the downloadable pearl snare catalog. this one is made of steel, but its black, and its a freefloater, so it will look similar.

I'm confused? Does a "Black" freefloater sound better than say, a "Natural" maple freefloater? That give a new meaning to "Once you go black, you never go back". :D

no, as long as you are comparing 2 maple free floaters, color wont matter.
