Well I like a medium to low sound. What pitched cymbals to do you like?

I like crash cymbals that give you an immediate explosion of sound and then an immediate decay; almost like oversized splashes.

I like ride cymbals that give a very distinct "sticking" sound-- ping, I guess-- with very little or no wash.

I like "crisp" hi-hats; very high-pitched with a distinct "chick" sound when you close 'em.

Same as Flipkid but it depends on what I play I guess.

I use really low, dry trashy K's for Jazz/Lounge.
I've a set of K Customs for my electric blue band.
I use a set of A Customs for Loud/big venue/outdoor gigs.

The type gig and music dictates what I use.

I'd say if I only had one set (like most drummers) I'd pick the sounds that go with the type of music I play the most.

I like a fast response, medium decay mid-high sound for my crash. I curently play a 16" A custom & a 18" AMIR (limited Ziljian release). I like a big ride, so I have a K 22" Dry ride.

Has anyone ever heard of the AMIR?

I like whatever sounds good. Not concerned with pitch. If I like it, I buy it. That simple.

I like a spread out medium sound. I dont like high pitch, way too tingy sounding. Fast decay.

I like a mix of all kinds but if I had to choose, I'd say mid to high with medium decay and bif explosion...

I like how the cymbals on NFG's Sticks and Stones sound. I'm a Z Custom user. I love loud, and bright sound. Hi Hats I use A Custom Mastersounds.

I voted mediun to high but sometimes (depending on the song) I like a lower pitch long decay crash, I have an old paiste 20" ride that I use for that ( also use it for a second ride). I like my splashes high and glassy, I prefere a ride pingy with little wash.

I only play my set at home... So I want those dark and soft crashes of my K custom, dry sound of my K custom medium ride and nice chick of my 13 K/Z hats. My china doesn't work nice for me because it's Z custom china boy! It's loud! Probably, oriental classic chinas will work for me...

I like loud and heavy cymbals with medium pitch and medium decay. I'm planning to buy 14" dynobeat z-customs. They've an enourmous sound when played half-open. As for the ride, I bought an 21" A-custom Projection ride. A nice loud pingy sound.

I like to have both ends of the spectrum. I'll buy some crashes that are bright and loud, and then some others that are darker and thinner and quieter. With hi hats, I really prefer the darker sound to a brighter one. I hate when open hi hats sound more like a bell than a cymbal. With rides, I really like a pingy sound from them with very little wash, so bright with those all the way. If I want a darker ride sound, I'll just ride on a big, dark crash. Carter Beauford does the same thing I think: He has K's and A's and he'll use the K's for darker, more low-key stuff but then use the A's for more fast-paced songs. If I had the money for all the cymbals he had, I sure would spring for it.

The warm/bright sound of Paiste 2002's have a great sound for all situations. They've been recorded on more records in the 70s and 80's than any other cymbal. The top of the line Sabians are nice too, but then again they sound like the Paiste's.
