I bought a few items from Midwest Percussion way back on February 25th, 2004. One of these items was the "D2000 Pearl Ergonomic Seat w/Twist Fine Tuner" for the price of $154.95. This was the brand new, top-of-the-line throne from Pearl. My old throne was in need of replacement (and still is!) so it sounded like a perfect replacement.
Well -- here it is September '04, and Midwest has STILL not shipped it to me. I have emailed several times and keep getting some sort of excuse.
on March 17th they wrote:
"These are arriving at Pearl as we speak. They will be getting to all back orders shortly. We should see ours in about 7-10 days and then ship it out. Sorry about the delay, but this will be our first shipment of these thrones."
on April 8th they wrote:
"Sorry about the wait, but we just were told Pearl has all the gear being
unloaded this week at their place....they will get all back orders out to us and
then to you. This shouldn't be to much longer now that the gear is here in the states. Thanks for your patience."
on April 27th they wrote:
"until Pearl can get us the NEW thrones (haven't seen one yet) we can't ship them...The latest news from Pearl is that the gear will be at out shop by May 5th."
on July 7th they wrote:
"Pearl will be getting those thrones mid-end July & will be shipping them out shortly there after. Sorry for the delay."
and now here it is September 27th - and I have not received anything. No email. No phone call. No throne.
I sent an email requesting a refund, and have tried unsuccessfully to reach someone via phone at Midwest.
I just can't believe that any item should have to be 7 months late in shipping. Is this a fault of Pearl's not having the thrones ready? or am I getting screwed with by Midwest.
