I am a professional drummer, and also own a sole proprietorship. I'm considering obtaining a wholesale/tax ID number and going into retail business, because of the lack of good drum shops in my area. Although I've been a drummer for 40 years, I'm relatively inexperienced at setting up a dealership. I have a vision of becoming a purveyor of custom drumsets; primarily Pearl. I'm seeking information on how to go about contacting Pearl to become a distributor. There are no contact options in any of their catalogs, or on the website. I've yet to attend a NAMM show; is this a possibility? What criteria, if any, must be met to become a Pearl Dealer? Any info on any of these topics would be helpful.
