Well i'd just bought some new cymbals for my kit, which i was really happy with.
This particular promblem happened when we got together for a bit of a jam session. Afterwards we were talking about equipment and stuff and i we all agreed on how good my kit was looking and sounding now and how its all coming together, just then, while flicking up my snare strainer to apply the snares, THE BLODDY THING EXPLODES!!... well fall apart neway, bits went every where (the pic shows what i managed to recover), and so I was very annoyed to say the least. I was just wondering what my options are, Can it be fixed? Do i need a new strainer? If so what one? etc. hope you can help me.
Cheers.

In the U.S., if your kit is up to 3 years old and if you're the original owner, the strainer is under warranty. Contact the authorized Pearl dealer from whom your purchased your kit and they will contact us for a replacement.

The warranty differs from country to country so ask your local authorized Pearl dealer for the warranty terms and conditions in the country that you reside.

if it is a pearl snare, contact "Gene Okamoto" he posts here on this forum, and you can send him a PM. He hooked me up with a new snare assembly, in less than a week. The man is a god.

Same thing happened to mine. I just got a a 6mm screa and 2 washers and a 6mm nylon incert nut and it was perfect after than. Same thing went on mine and everyone elses that has broken. The little pop rivot is made of aliminium and wears easily and keeps wearing untill is sheers off.

Best thing for pearl to do is not to use rivots and use a small nut and bold from now on. Much better job. Lasts longer.

same thing happened to me (at a gig!! GRR!!)
LUCKILY I UN-DONE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SNARE AND TIGHTENED IT RIGHT UP AND HAD IT PERMANENTLY ON..

I fixed it with a small nut, washer and bolt... and i had vented my snare and warrently was void

Same exact thing happened to me (i.e. the pop rivet snaps), I contacted my local distributer and Pearl sent me a replacement strainer free of charge!

i think that you should just buy another new thinger-mo-bobber. it's not worth fixing. another one should cost the same as to build it back up. (sad to say)
