hi all, thanks for the posts. yes, you are right, i am lefty. i took the time to do a complete drum/cymbal setup for the bandīs homepage, so i included the pic for you all here. hope you like my photoshop work ;-))

you may visit www.aftermidnight-blues.de if you want to...

i must say that the vintage sunburst looks in natural better than on the pics. in "real life" it looks more powerful, you can see the structure of the wood selected. thereīs a bit too much light on the pics, but what the heck....its a thunderous finish!!!!!

Beautiful kit! I almost purchased a Vintage Sunburst but when I saw the Wine Red in the store, I had to have it! Enjoy!

Oliver, how did you make that diagram? Did you use the build masterworks kit on the pearl site? I tried that but couldn't figure out how to do it.

Hi Braindonor,

actually, the whole pic is what i made by myself except the cymbals. Basically, everything is a single layer in photoshop so that i can adjust the diameters of toms and cymbals just by selecting the appropriate object. i created everything hand-made. i didnīt use the masterworks program īcause i thought itīs gonna be to flat and i wanted the kit overview a bit more three dimensional. i donīt know where i got the cymbals from.

if you are interested in making such a kit layout pic, feel free to contact me anytime and i will forward you the necessary utils.

Yours,

Oliver

just for legal reasons: i wonīt forward you any photoshop software to get it clear, only the layers!!! :-))

Oliver , great kit indeed! Mine is coming in in about 2 weeks. We've got almost the same sizes, I'll post a pic when I have my baby...

So you did the lay-out with photoshop uh... Anyone else know a way to do it another way?

thanks boxie for the kind words :-)

i cant wait to get the kit finished with the 16" TT and 13" TT that are still under construction in japan and with the second Kick (22"x18")....

as for the kit overview, i think the best way is to grab an existing one and create new layers out of it with photoshop or illustrator. it took me a couple of weeks to finish mine :-)

all the best to the drummer in the netherlands,

cheers!

Oliver

The DW kitbuilder is also good. It actually allows you to change the direction of the kick drum.

Hi Oliver!

Great kit! And the sound.....;) But I think the vintage sunburts is not so good to see as in real life. You know taht I saw it in your basement or your drum-kit-room and the colour was more beutiful than teh pics show. But nevertheless a great kit!!

Bye,

Freddy

As a fellow Vintage Sunburst owner I say welcome to the club! It's tough to get them to photograph like they appear in person. By the way they look great under stage lights too.

Good luck with the new kit.

Hello There Oliver!....we haven't emailed in some time. I know you waited a while to get the kit, but it is stellar.....another unique and "classic" color by Pearl. How are you adjusting to the feel of the kit?...sound etc?....how are the heads?...will you change them at all?

More pictures!

Congratulations......it's always fun to see someone getting a new kit....I don't think non-percussionsists can understand.

bye for now

Here's a pic of my Vintage Sunrise BRX. The colors in the drumshells are vivid due to taking the picture with a flash at close range. The shells appear darker when pictures are taken at longer range.

I love my kit, and I'm sure you love yours too.
