I use Newcastle or Drumshop (Gateshead) for almost all my drum stuff and would agree that the service at both is great - and neither are exactly local for me (I live in Kent!)
When I need somewhere a bit closer to home, I'll go to PMT in Southend - cheap hardware and a good selection of percussion in particular. MOst of the shops in London aren't worth bothering with (including Wembley) - prices are just too high and I've not had good service at any of them.

Drumwright in Reading seem pretty good. They'll negotiate on prices and they have a customer loyalty scheme as well. I guess it depends which side of London you are.

I use both the drumshop at gateshead and also the newcastle drum centre. Ive applied for a job at NDC so hopefully I'l be working there very soon!

Sent me the next grade down when pearl upgraded the hardware! I paid for top whack, but got the middle range!
Price - as above!
Besides, ADC beats them if you enquire on most things(pearl, sonor), poole beats them on DW, and as far as paiste(which they sell) www.ecymbals.co.uk IS unbeatable! Julain is a great guy, if anyone wants paiste in UK - he is the best! I think hes gonna be the main distributor soon aswell ie sells them to everyone in UK! We can only hope!
