i like the quad-beaters Pearl offers. Altho, i've gone through about 3 beaters now. the felt on them seem to be a little too soft and i dont like the plastic side of the beaters. i have also tried the iron cobra beaters and they also seem too soft. i dont play my bass too hard. but i dunno.. maybe i'm just a little too fussy.

I also like the quad-beater, and I also find that the felt "wears-down" more quickly than I'd like. However, I love being able to quickly switch between 4 different sounds between songs if I feel like it.

The greatest thing in pedals is a Pearl Eliminator with an Axis stock beater that comes on the 'A' pedal.

Anyone ever try this Red Wood beaters from Danmar I believe?

If these Quadbeaters that I'm getting in the mail break on me, I'm thinking of switching to those.

Anyone try Pearls 'Duo' beaters?
You've got your plastic and felt surfaces, and they seem to be lighter than the quad beaters and also have less surface area for speed.
Oh they're cheaper too.

stevo, I have a Duo beater on the pedal that came with my Rhythm Traveler kit and a Quadbeater on my Eliminator. I'll compare the two beaters at a gig tonight and let you know what I find out.

The Quadbeaters are cool but I still occasionally use the good old Danmar square felt beaters. Whap!

I've tried Quadbeaters and IC beaters (wood, plastic and felt). I find Iron Cobra Felt beaters best, allthough the plastic ones aren't bad either...

I didn't tried all type of beaters, so I don't know, I like my felt quadbeater.

I'm using IC duo beaters but I like the Quad beaters frm pearl. I like how heavy they are and they have good attack. I alsolike the duo beater but it's too light I like to have that little bit of extra power.

Tama IC Felts-they are on all my pedals, except one that has the rubber IC beater. Attack for days...

I like the IC beaters, I think they OWN!(I have the felt) but at the moment im using the tama dual sided beaters on the plastic side,(don't really like them, too heavy)
but I will be getting the IC wood beaters soon though:)
