The OM-1 External Clamp-on Muffler for snare drums and toms allows you to dampen UN-wanted overtones for recording or live applications. Adjusting the pressure of the felt pad against the head is easy just turn the wing-nut tensioner to desired amount for perfect tone. The OM-1 attaches to your drum by clamping on the hoop allowing you to position it where needed and/or out of the way of the playing area.
It dampens the tone without interfering with the drums action by pressing downward against the head, thus when the drum is struck the head is allowed to move freely. This is very different from the old school of mufflers that press against the head from within the drum - causing a lump and obstructing the heads action and changing the feel of the drum.
