View Full Version : sponsorship
what would i have to do to get sponsorship? i'm here dreaming about the kits you guys are talking about and playing my hybrid kit that started off as a performance percussion starter kit. the only way out is sponsorship or a lottery win. if the odds of getting sponsorship are worse than the odds on winning the lottery could you tell me the price of a black drum head ( 22" ) with the pearl logo on it, so i can at least fake it?

Sorry dude but endorsements are usually given to high profile drummers that are well known and will get Pearl's product out in the open, on tv, and even in clinics. But you can buy a Remo Powerstroke 3 black resonant head. Or if you are into Evans you can buy an EQ1, EQ2, and EQ3 black resonant heads and have a decal company or find a Pearl drums logo decal and slap in on the bass drum head yourself. May I suggest the Evans EQ3 resonant black head. They are a two ply resonant head with a mylar ring for dampening. Most professionals using Evans heads use the EQ3 black resonant head for their bass drum. I use it myself. I use and Evans EQ4 clear and a EQ3 black resonant with no type of muffling at all in my bass drum. With that head combination you don't need it unless you like the cardboard box sound of the 70's. If you search Pearl Drums on ebay or something you can usually find white and black Pearl bass drum logos for a couple of dollars. Good luck!

But if you want a quality head instead of the junk Remo makes for Pearl. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

just depends on how bad or how fast you want that logo ;)

True very true. I usually by my usual Evans EQ3 black resonant head and have a friend that works at a sign business make me my logo with white vinyl. It works quite well actually. But I do understand your point as well.

The EQ3 resonant is a single ply 10 mil head with a perimeter muffling ring, the EQ3 batter is a 2 ply head though.

Hey guys,
I have found nice logo heads on Musiciansfriend.com They have the Black Pearls and also a nice semi-transparent Smoke Color head as well.
I am currently using clear heads but, would consider the smoke ones in the future.

Perhaps you didn't mean to post that here? This thread is after all quite old!
