Has anyone dealt with Midwest Percussion? Their prices are great, but delivery?????

I ordered one week ago. Tracking? nothing. I call customer service -- I quote: "What are you short?" I answer, "Everything." He says, "Oh."

Literally a second later:

Your drums? Pearl will drop ship -- no date. They're gone to lunch so we can't check with them.

Your cymbals? We have to wait for a shipment from Zildjian -- next week -- for two of your crashes. (I only ordered one crash.)

The rest of your order? Gee, uh, you haven't received it? Hmmmm. Tracking number? Hmmmm.

I can be patient with delays in shipping. I can even handle a little bit of, "I don't know. Let me get back with you." But I feel like I'm being stonewalled here. That makes me nervous.

Has anyone else had any experience with Midwest Percussion?

Hi -

Midwest Percussion has decent prices, but not the best service.

Usually, I check their prices, and then I look for a place like interstatemusic.com or musiciansfriend.com that actually stocks most of the merchandise.

The other sites will gladly match the Midwest prices, and they will usually ship it to you the same day. If they don't have the items in stock, I've always found that they are more helpful about tracking and backorder information than Midwest.

I'm with you.

Finally got information back from Midwest Percussion. EVERYTHING back ordered. (Why didn't they tell me?) Zildjian, they THINK will have cymbals to them within a week. Pearl, they THINK MIGHT have the kit about mid-September.

I'll hang with them on the cymbals (for a week), but I canceled the drum kit. A month . . . MAYBE????
