i searched a lot for anything about this pedal but i could only find 1 or 2 short threads. people are probably going to say to get the regular Iron Cobra but i dont really need all of those bells and whistles. i just want a pedal that feels good and will last a few years. its just going to be staying at my house, i wont be gigging with it or anything. but my parents said i could get it with my birthday money and im not going to push it and ask if i can get a pedal that costs $100 more.

so what do you guys think about it. its nothing compared to the real iron cobra, i know, but pretend that the real one didnt exist. pros/cons?? and also does the Iron Cobra Jr. come with the carrying case standard like the regular IC does? thanks, any info is really appreciated.

well i have an ic junior and its nothing compared to the reg ic.. like u said.

its nice for how cheap it is. alot better than other entry level pedals. i just got lighter beaters, heavier srpings and lubed it up good and it worked fine. ive had it for almost 2 years now and it has no signs of any breakage or anything. its still in good shape.
the left pedal squeeks alot but thats about it

why not look on ebay for a second hand IC/dw 5000/eliminator for the same price as the IC Jr?

if you find a good deal the iron cobras will only be like 50 or less dollars more than an ic junior

I love my jr. IC. I get all the speed and power out of it I need. I play alot of music that requires a tremendous amount of double bass and my pedals have never let me down once. The adjustments are great and the pedal is just overall smooth. I've had mine for a year and a half and nothing has broke, nothing has worn out, nothing has ever happened to it to hinder my playing during performances whatsoever.

an iron cobra jr is essentially an iron cobra for much less. it just has a smaller powerglide cam, and its single chain. in my opinion, its the best you can get for the money, way above the entry level pedals. when i tried them, the ic and ic junior had a similar feel, but the ic only felt a bit heavier and smoother

the regular ic is generally thicker and has a heavier foot board. it is smoother because of the double chain. but yes the ic jr is almost as good.

in that pic it shows the regular Iron Cobra in the case... is HP200TW the product number for a IC jr???? and you can get them for lefty pedals right?

the IC has independently adjustable beater/footboard angles for both the main and slave. the JR has an adjustable slave footboard angle so you can set it up closer to your hihat pedal.
it's a good buy, but you might have to spend a little extra cash to order the lefty. for myself, the IC JR was the first idea, but i wound up going with the SR because i could switch it myself, instead of waiting a couple of months for one to show up in town.

yes, that is the model number for the JR. hp200TWL is what you need, buddy

that carrying case is awesome. i use it all the time when i gig out, and haven't lost it or broken it yet. it holds things in place without any damage better than a trap case too.

you could luck out like me and go into the store and try em all out and decide to get an IC junior cos its all you can afford. then get the box home and discover the store has charged you for an IC junior but given you an IC. thats one of my favourite days! and my view is, if they cant deal with you properly and give you what you order and pay for then its their own fault! their service absolutly stunk the place up too. im not shopping there anymore. partly because they may ask for the IC back. lol

i would rather buy it from a local store but im probably going to end up ordering online because i dont think any local places will carry the lefty version.

lol your really lucky exitfuel, i remember a member bought an Iron Cobra from a dealer but he took the display and the case because he thought the case was empty. he ended up giving one of the pedals back though :(.

kimboy, i would get the regular IC's but i dont want to push my luck. from what people have said its a decent pedal for the price, and i dont really need all of the gizmo's and gadgets on it.

is it hard to switch the springs to the silver high tension springs?? or is it a pain??
