Why do you never see old school Single Flanged Hoops?

Why do you never see old school Single Flanged Hoops with the colllar hooks anymore? I love the look of them where do they fall in the whole line of 2.3 diecast and wood?

They are a pain in the arse to change heads, sometimes rattle on loose tunings, and can be challenging to play rim-shots on.

They're around -- you may not be looking in the right places. You see them pretty frequently on Worldmax snares. Also, doesn't (didn't) Pearl do a Sensitone with them?

I have a Sensitone brass snare with them.
Kind of a pain for the reasons stated before.
