Greetings! I have both 3 1/2" and 5" Pearl maple shell free floaters. They are of medium age and use the SR-010 strainer. What do people think are the best snare wires to use with these drums. I've been using the Pearl S-025. The new UltraSound snares are getting good reviews, but I don't see a long version. This drum and strainer version was designed for snares that extend past the edge of the snare bed. Will the shorter UltraSound snares work well? I notice that there is a Puresound Custom 16 strand version that is extra long for use with free floaters. Anyone have experience with these?
