Congrats to Minnesota Brass Inc. for their highest finish ever. 2nd place is definitely nothing to be down on. You jumped up from 4th to 2nd. That RARELY ever happens in DCA.
Congrats to Kenny on another championship with the Reading Buccaneers!
TO Adam Jones,
Renegades have never been a favourite of mine, but without a doubt you deserve a congrats as well. Not seeing the eastern DCA corps all season long is a challenge. You guys show up every year, put on an entertaining program and lay it on the line.
Congrats to the Corpsvets members on here (one I believe).
If I forgot anyone else, I am sorry. Speak up and let me know what DCA corps you represent!

It was an interesting first time experience... did not really feel we got the recognition we deserved from the judges but... we don't have any control over that. We played the best we could both nights. We had an amazing lot finals night not too many ticks to be found there and Alliance had just come off the field to their equipment truck and they were going pretty nuts for us... that was pretty cool. Our snareline was pretty much smoking all season. All in all, I enjoyed myself. Although, by the 4th day we were all pretty beat. The drill demand this year was through the roof for us. I would venture to say we have a much higher average age than some of the higher placing DCA corps. We rehearsed on pavement from thursday to sunday and by sunday I was in pretty bad shape in my knees/feet. Never realized how much much rehearsing on pavement could suck the life right out of you... OH YEAH!!! HAHAHA and they sealed the cracks in the pavement with this soft tacky compound so when it heated up on Saturday and sunday we would come to a halt and find our selves stuck to the ground and when you would go to step off again you chanced having your foot come right out of your shoe... made for some interesting rehearsing.
I was most impressed with MBI... they were in my opinion the best line on the field. There were hardly any clarity issues and their show was really entertaining. We also stayed at the same hotel and they were very friendly so they are just a great corps on and off the field.
I will be coming back again next year for sure... not so much for the DCA experience, but just had a really great time and we are planning on returning 6/7 of our snareline and adding a couple more. So we will be smoking again next year. Figure we will just pick up where we left off next season. We are already looking to start replacing people that are leaving from the others sections and be even stronger next year. We will need tenors, basses and front ensemble (they will be in the front next season) peeps for sure next year.

I thought mbi was real good and pretty clean... but i was watching bushwackers in the lot and they were throwin down. I think they should have won drums. Their snare line was absolutly spotless.

just because you are thrown down in the lot doesn't mean you are doing it on the field... but I cant attest to bushwackers as i never got to see them. Out of the lines I actually got to see on the field... MBI, Cabs, Statesmen, and Bucs... MBI was by far the cleanest line on the field. I don't know if it was tuning but the other corps had several parts in their shows where the snares would be playing for several bars and it was static projecting off the field... I am not talking crap... I was in shock... I was expect almost flawless performances from the top 5 and MBI was the only line I never heard projecting dirt... some slight fuzz but nothing like I heard coming from the other groups.

Trust me Adam, I know how the pavement rehearsal feel. Every finals weekend from 2002-2005, we [Grenadiers] rehearsed on a parking lot next to our hotel. It was HELL on the body. Every part of your body would hurt so much more. At first you couldn't figure it out. Was it my posture? Was it the harness? NOPE! It's the damn pavement!
I only got to see the small video clips of each corps on DCP. There were incredible shows top to bottom this year. MBI should have won drums without a doubt.
As for the Bushwackers...well...they weren't it this year. Not even close. They had a tough start to the season, it got better, but they didn't get to where they should have been.
I figured you would like DCA and what it has to offer. It's fun times for sure!

Oh man, pavement...In junior corps in 2002 we got stuck with pavement fields all through spring training.
MBI rehearses on pavement every week. The only time grass shows up is for show camps or show days if we're at a high school.
