Session Custom (SRX), features 100% Maple 6-ply shells made the same way as Masterworks and Masters using our no-air-gap scarf joint technology and patented Heat Compression Shell Molding System (HCSMS) that together produce the best sounding drum shell possible.
Designed sharing many features of the Masters Series including superior quality finishes, OptiMount suspension system, and SP-30 telescoping bass drum spurs, SRX has the tonal sophistication and balanced tonal presence that leaves you with the impression of a kit costing hundreds of dollars more. There can be only one choice for a 6-ply Maple shell with an ultra-wide tuning range and full-bodied sound - SRX!
Available in prepackaged sets, shell packs or separate components, it's easy to get just the right set-up to meet your musical needs. SRX components all feature low mass designed lugs with brass swivel nutsproviding improved "grip" on steel tension rods to retain tension settings plus Masterworks-style rubber gaskets for enhanced unrestricted shell vibration providing even full-bodied tone. All mounted toms come equipped with our OptiMount suspension tom mounting system that removes the hardware from the drum by totally insulating it on rubber cushions for increased resonance and sustain. Floor toms feature the R-40 "Air Suspension" rubber tips on all legs, which also act to "float" the drum to dramatically lengthen, sustain for unrestricted bottom-end response. The SRX toms floor toms and snare drums also feature SuperHoop II rims for accurate precise tuning and open tonal clarity. All bass drum key rods allow pinpoint tuning accuracy and makes fitting into cases easier.
The ProTone drumheads on the SRX offer wide spectrum tone with unsurpassed durability. Bass drum heads are outfitted with an EQ ring for "out of the box" ready to play tone. Toms and floor toms feature our 2-ply batter head for deep rich sound. The Protone coated snare head has just the right balance of attack and tone for all dynamic levels.
SRX prepackaged sets include; H-855 direct-drive hi-hat; S-885W Dual Uni-Lock snare stand; B-855W and C-855W double braced stands with Uni-Lock (infinitely adjustable) tilters; and the P-101P PowerShifter Bass drum pedal. The perfectly matched SRX-1455S (14"x5.5") snare drum is standard equipment with prepackaged sets and shell packs providing a warm, smooth tonal quality that complements the rest of the kit, and for those who desire a 6.5" depth is also available separately.
Five super high gloss lacquer finishes include #281 Carbon Mist, #285 Dusk Blue, #290 Vintage Fade, #291 Cranberry Fade, and #292 Marine Blue Fade.
