elite series bongos

Hi,

I am new to hand percussion even though I have been drumming for about 40 years, and I have a question about the pearl bongos. I purchased the Pearl elite series bongos because they sounded better than the other high end (and low end) bongos at the Guitar Center. I noticed that the heads appear to be different than the heads on the high end LP's and this may be part of what makes them sound so good. Would anyone be able to tell me what these heads are made of and where I can purchase the identicle heads when I need to replace them?

The Pearl Elite bongo heads are made of genuine water buffalo skin. Exact replacement heads can be ordered directly from Pearl through your local Guitar Center store.
