Is it just me or has it been impossible to register on the cymbalholic forum for like 45347029587903458 years?
Or is there some sort of invite system that I'm unaware of?

I don't know either. I e-mailed them about it before and never got a reply. I'd love to be a part of that forum. Pure class and amazing cymbals.

There's no secret invite thing that I'm aware of. I guess just because of server capacities, they haven't had registration for...well, at least a few years. As long as I've been playing and looking at drums.

I emailed Chad and got a reply back and he made me an account. This was recent.
He told me why they closed registration and I can't remember why. I think it was because of a load of spam and just trouble going on and he had to shut it down.
He's been debating about whether or not the site will even continue so it's probably best not to register anyway. No point in registering to participate for a month or how ever long it may be. I only learned this after I got my account and I'm hardly there.

Yeah i've wondered the same thing, it's supposedly been closed since '06 but I still see plenty of 07 and 08 members. Who knows, i'm just grateful I can view the site as a guest :D

Rocker's and anyone else that's not entrenched in the study of Tony and Elvin..and not completely obsessed with old K Zildjians or round-badge Gretschs will find cymbalholic.com a disappointment.
There's only like 1400 members, and the air is pretty thick over there...pretty limited in scope and snobby for no apparent reason. I'm a member, and I don't particularly like it over there...though there are decent threads and some knowledgeable and decent members.

It’s good reading and I would join if I could, but I don’t own any Turkish K’s, Bosphorus, Istanbuls and my participation would be limited.
The guys who put together the trademark timelines did great work. I don’t agree with some of their opinions and conclusions, but I don’t want to debate that here either.

Well, to be fair, there are a lot of us over there who AREN'T "jazzers." There are plenty of rockers, symphonic, and avant-garde drummers there. Yes, the "jazzers" tend to dominate, but they are the ones who started the whole forum! And they tend to obsess over old cymbals more than your average rock drummer.
While I appreciate them, I don't play Gretsch drums or have any old Ks. But I do find a lot of the information about them valuable.
Now if you really just want to "piss jazzers off" there, then you are a perfect example why membership is closed.
People need to realize that very few forums are a democracy—no one has to be let in to any of them. They all have their own personality, leading them to be what they are. You can choose to either participate in a civilized manner and post about what you are interested in, or, you can go elsewhere. We all have choices.
