I've been looking for a 16" Prestige Session Select hanging tom in amber burnish #181

I was thrilled to find it on interstate's website . .

(it's still there as i write this post:
http://www.interstatemusic.com/webapp/commerce/command/cProductDisplay?prmenbr=1&prrfnbr=900000372&topcat=2&prevcat=
)

I went ahead and placed an order last week for the drum and a double stand. Today the stand arrived in the mail. WHOO!! :-)

Then i got a call from Nathan who took my order. Bad news. Some problem with the fax prevented them from getting my order to pearl. During the delay, MY DRUM got bought by someone else and is currently on it's way to south carolina. AAARRRGHHH!!

Nathan apologized and said that he could still get the drum from pearl, but it would take 4-6 months cause they'd have to get it from overseas. for my trouble, they would give me free shipping (a $14 value)

"gee thanks, but can you do any better than that?", i asked.

"like what?", he said.

"well, i could use a jam block.", i told him.

he went and asked his supervisor if this was cool, and he came back and said no, the best thay could do was maybe a pair of sticks or a t-shirt.

you gotta be kidding me.

so, i cancelled the order and got a return authorization for the stand. the crazy thing is that shipping on that thing is going to cost more than their cost for the jam block!! i guess they'd rather tick off a customer than part with 3 or 4 bucks.

so . . i would be more than willing to give interstate another chance if someone there is willing to step up to the plate.

otherwise, i'll keep searching for my drum . . . i'll find it eventually. (even if it takes me 4-6 months :-) heheh)

it wasn't nathan's fault. i realize that mistakes happen and faxes get lost. i can deal with that. i just figured his supervisor would have stepped in and tried to make things right. i'm really suprised and dissapointed at their apathy toward the situation they put me in.

i'm sure this is an isolated incident since i've see lots of praise for interstate on these message boards. i'll probalby even order more stuff from them in the future. it's just a bummer to get screwed like that when i was so pumped about getting the drum.
