My neighbors have a pearl set to sell, they know nothing about it, it was willed to them. The lugs on all the drums are long, almost as long as the drum itself. I guess I mean that instead of two lugs it has long ones to make up for two? Anyway it says all maple shells on the badges, and the snare is wooden. I dont have any pics and hope someone can tell me what this is. I cant get any pics for at least a couple of weeks, they are out of town. Any info will be great!! Thank-you! daninflag

It sounds like an MLX kit -- 100% maple shells; made in the 80's; Super Hoops; predecessor to the Masters Series.

Great drums. The only down side is that the tom arm pierces the shell for mounting purposes. But, there is now hardware that you can buy to change that if you'd like -- plastic hole covers and optimounts for example.

My neighbor says make me an offer, I was thinking of a grand. Its a 22" bass, 12,13,16 toms, 14 wood snare. I dont want to cheat him out of a dime, but dont know what they are worth. Any Ideas???

Agreed.

I bought mine for $275 -- 22, 12, 12, 13, 16 in Seqouia Red a couple of years ago, and got $750 for it on a trade, if I remember correctly.

I know you don't want to shoprt-change him, and I don't want to run down the value of my own version of sucha kit, but $800 or if you are feeling nice, offer $900..., not that I think $1000 is a bad price, but some money for new heads is a good idea...
