Hi -

For the last couple of years, I've been trying to find a way to use the ICON rack clamps to effeciently mount percussion items that use the 3/8" mounting post.

Well, the solution that I finally discovered is to use the little 4" length pieces of 7/8" cymbal stand tubing that are included with the Pearl JG-16 Jungle Gig adapters to insert into the pipe clamps.

The little 7/8" piece of pipe thus enables the PPS-37 percussion clamp and the CH-70 cymbal boom to be connected directly to the rack (via the rack clamp) rather than a cymbal stand!

I've also found these little 4" tubes to be an efficient way to extend the reach of AX-20, AX-25, AX-25L, and AX-38 tom tom clamps because the little tubes can be used to link the AX- clamps together!

Of course, the 75X is also an option, but the 4" pipe enables more versatile holders (like the PS-37) to be used with the rack.

Unfortunately, the 75X does not have any lateral or depth adjustability. Hence, it can only mount percussion to the immediate rack space itself. Sometimes I need to be able to maneuver the percussion items a greater distance or radius from the rack clamp.
