EXR, it's a vinyl Pearl logo I purchased on Ebay, the head is an Evans smooth white EQ3 ported, purchased through Interstate Music. My kick batter is a clear EMAD by the way. The kick is the loudest, punchiest bass drum I've ever owned; ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Beautiful! Absolutely stunning set! I never imagined that they'd look THAT good!

What chinas are those, just curious? Are those ZXT's?

Bone, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. You are correct. The china's are 18" ZXT's with the logos polished off. I was a strict Wuhan guy for a long time until recently. I have ran into some bad luck with them of late so I figured I'd try something new. I won't spend alot on chinas because I know I can go and buy Wuhan's, which sound great, cheap. I tried the ZHT's but they didn't sound "trashy" enough. As for the kit, I gigged twice this past weekend with it and in the twenty years I've been playing in front of people, I've NEVER received so many compliments on how my kit looked! The guys in my band say it's the best sounding kit they've heard me play. These drums are the real deal!

Awesome! I asked about the chinas because I believe some of the ZXT's available (such as the chinas, splashes, and a couple of others) are highly underrated and should be taken into consideration if you're lookin' into a different sound, regardless of budget. The same goes for the ZHT's.

Anywho, I played a Vision back when I lived in my hometown. I was skeptical at first, but I was actually shocked. The birch/basswood formula remins me a lot of the maple/basswood formula with the original Mapex Pro M series (before it became 100% maple shells). I liked the sound and the appearance of the drums, especially with the beefed up drum spurs and the newer finishes.

I'm glad you love your Visions. They're great kits all the way! Yours are probably the best Visions I've seen on this forum.

Bone, once again thanks so much! I see you play Mapex. Back in '94 I managed a drum dept. for a Mom & Pop shop in my hometown of Bethlehem,PA. We were an authorized Mapex dealer at that time and I played a great sounding burgundy lacquered kit. I can't remember the series. The store was fortunate enough to get Carmine Appice, who was endorsing Mapex at the time, to do a seminar. He was playing with Rick Derringer. I got to spend the entire day with Carmine. A very interesting guy. I've always liked the Mapex product, as a matter of fact, I almost purchased a Saturn before I got my Sessions kit.

Yeah, Mapex makes some incredible products. I heard that a revamped Janus hardware line is comin' out. I can't wait! Those M's have lasted a long time. I'm lookin' in the future to replace the M's, simply to get a sound catered more to my tastes. Right now, bein' in college makes it a lil' bit tougher than I could've imagined.

The Saturns are wonderful kits, probably one of my all-time favorites. They have such a vast tuning range, lots of low end and punchyness, and they're extremely versatile. If I had the money, I'd special order one myself.
